SAFETY ALERT ON REFRIGERANT USE

It has come to our attention that the practice of charging A1 systems with A2L refrigerants has become a reality despite all the warnings not to do so. With reports of compressor failures and a safety risk, we want to highlight to all members that although the operating characteristics of R32 are similar to those of R410A, these refrigerants are NOT interchangeable as drop-in replacements and serious injury could be the result of improper use of even mildly flammable refrigerant gases.

REFRIGERANT GAS RECYCLING AND THE F GAS PHASEDOWN

Our in-house experts have created new technical bulletin guidance to remind members and the industry of the importance of the effective recycling of as much recovered gas as possible.

The guidance aims to alleviate the pressures being experienced by members in the field with shortages of virgin and reclaimed gas causing gas prices at the wholesalers to rise to extremely high levels. The shortages have led to a lack of availability and meant members have had to leave wholesalers without the gas supplies required to carry out their tasks.
